As Principal of Intown Communications, Fran Putney brings more than two decades of news reporting, storytelling, public/media relations and communications strategy experience to the business.
Prior to launching Intown Communications in 2017, Fran spent nearly ten years heading up communications and public relations at The Davis Academy, an innovative and nationally recognized, independent K – 8 school in the greater Atlanta; and before that, several years supporting marketing and communications efforts at Hands on Atlanta and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta,
As a news reporter and features writer, Fran won two Rockower Awards for excellence in Jewish journalism while a senior staff writer for the weekly Atlanta Jewish Times. Prior, she held a unique position at CNN conducting daily online interviews with newsmaker guests ranging from authors to Secretaries of State, as well as hosting news-focused conversations with network correspondents. Fran is a graduate of Kent State University’s School of Journalism & Mass Communication (Ohio) and holds a Masters degree in Social Science from Georgia State University.
